Friendship Clubs in Schools

The Friendship Foundation has school-sanctioned clubs located in various high schools, middle schools, and elementary schools throughout the South Bay. General and special education students join together to eat lunch, socialize, play games, and attend school functions as a group.

This program encourages awareness for general education students and creates an environment in which friendships can develop with students in special education. Further, it gives the students in special education a chance to have a familiar face or even a friend in the hallways, cafeteria, and around school.

Typically, each club meets once per week during a lunch period that is arranged by the hosting teacher and the students that run the Friendship Club. All clubs are subject to specific guidelines set by their respective schools.
